The reason for Reason Health

Mar 5, 2025

Thanksgiving 2024 was my wake-up call. Within one week, I lost my paternal grandmother, and my maternal grandmother became bedridden with lymphoma. I was in America—the land of endless opportunities—immersed in chasing tech trends, while halfway across the globe, my parents were confronting questions about mortality. I booked the next flight home.

I'm a technologist, not a doctor. Sitting at the dining table with my mom, we used ChatGPT to decode my grandma's lab results, translating complex jargon into simple explanations we could share in our family group chats. Despite medical advancements we hear in the news, navigating medical terminology, scattered documents, and conflicting opinions remained painfully difficult for ordinary people like us.

This experience clarified for me that healthcare technology today primarily serves hospitals, providers, and insurers—not the patients and families who urgently need it. Witnessing my family’s struggle also led me to deeply reflect on my parents' future. When it’s my turn to take care of them, I’d like to focus on their wellbeing, not the administrative overhead of care coordination.

Driven by this realization, I left my job and founded Reason Health. Our mission is clear: simplify health navigation for the "invisible person"—the everyday individual seeking practical, accessible solutions rather than flashy, complicated tech. At Reason Health, patients come first.

If you believe healthcare navigation can be simpler and more human-centered, sign up and join our mission!
